It is odourless, tasteless and made from specialty grade wood pulp and purified cotton linters. It is insoluble in water and resistant to dilute acid, alkali solution and other organic solvents. It is also an ideal excipient as it is popularly used as a binder or diluent in oral tablets and capsules.
