Methyl P-Hydroxybenzoate
Food additive in the category of chemical preservatives. It is a derivative of benzoic acid E 210. It is hardly soluble, still being found in a lot of food and cosmetics. Used as a preservative against yeasts and molds, but less efficient against bacteria, its activity is not influenced by the acidity of the food.
