Iron Oxides (INS-172)
Food additive in the category of natural colorants of mineral origin, which can be found as E 172(i) – Black iron oxide, E 172(ii) – Red iron oxide and E 172(iii) – Yellow iron oxide. They are obtained from iron powder and it is used only for surface coverings.
