EPALRESTAT is used for the management of diabetic neuropathy. EPALRESTAT works by inhibiting the aldose reductase enzyme, which catalyses the conversion of glucose to sorbitol. Accumulation of sorbitol occurs due to hyperglycaemia in patients who have diabetes which leads to nerve pain.
