Synthetic food additive with sweetening role. It is about 200 times sweeter than sugar, comparing equal amounts from the two products. Acesulfame K is chemically stable compound at high temperatures and acidic environments. Does not contain calories and, although not a carbohydrate, it suddenly triggers pancreatic activity which increases its possibilities of use, compared to other artificial sweeteners.
